Sabbath as relief rather than a rule about never thinking again
Neville’s Sabbath points to the natural rest that follows acceptance, not a performance in which every stray thought becomes failure. Relief may be quiet: less compulsion to check, less appetite for opposing conversations, and a sense that nothing more is required right now. How do you distinguish genuine rest from suppressing doubt?

Suppression feels tense and vigilant. Rest feels available: I could imagine again if I wished, but I no longer feel that another repetition is what makes the result possible.
